Nudists flock to Mossman for Adults Only sex party

The White Cockatoo is almost fully booked next month for its Adults Only promotion, a swingers’ romp where almost anything goes.

We’ve effectively sold out, resort owner Tony Fox said.

It’s a totally clothing optional, adults only month with almost no rules applicable.

Provided it doesn’t constitute a breach of the Australian law, they (guests) are welcome to do anything.

Only illegal drugs and cameras are banned at the resort.

Mr Fox said the bare-fleshed bash would attract about 250 guests and pump at least $500,000 into the town’s economy.

Most of the guests were from interstate or overseas, he said.

Certainly, the global economic crisis doesn’t affect our target market, he said.

Mr Fox said apart from some religious leaders, the event had not met any opposition.

Most people understand that with this level of business, they’ll get a slice of the pie, he said.

This is a half-million-dollar month for the town.

The reality is, we’ve come up against zero opposition.

Port Douglas Daintree Tourism executive officer Doug Ryan said the White Cockatoo’s promotion would help the industry during a soft season.

If it’s legal and it works, do it, he said.

If you asked me if it’s detrimental to tourism, I’d say no.

We are in tough times.

They’ve found a niche market that suits their property – so good on them.

Mr Fox said 24-hour security and surveillance cameras at the resort protected guests from the prying eyes of the public.

He said the Adults Only party would be extended to three months next year if it was successful.

Most bookings were made after an article appeared in The Cairns Post last year, he said.
